Meet Darryl

A career devoted to helping people make consequential decisions.

Darryl Breland began his insurance and financial-services career in 1990. Over the decades, his work has included life insurance, financial services, investment and asset-management work, 401(k) plans, employee benefits, individual health insurance and employer health-benefit strategies.

That breadth of experience has allowed him to work with individuals, families, business owners and employers—each with different needs, priorities and tradeoffs.

A different chapter

Business-owner perspective, built firsthand.

Darryl also spent approximately a dozen years as a homebuilder and developer, building more than 200 homes. That chapter gave him direct experience with the responsibilities, risks and decisions that come with owning and operating a business.

When he returned his primary focus to insurance, he brought that practical perspective with him—especially in his work with self-employed people, small-business owners and employers.

How Darryl works

Education and guidance—not high-pressure selling.

  • Understand what you are buying.
  • Know why it may fit your circumstances.
  • Consider the important tradeoffs.
  • Know who to call when you need help afterward.

The Breland Benefits philosophy

A recommendation should begin with your life—not a product.

Personal service is not an extra. It is the foundation of the business. Breland Benefits aims to help clients make informed choices and remain a dependable resource as questions and circumstances change.

Beyond Breland Benefits

Storytelling, books and long-form media

Darryl’s interests outside insurance include writing and Papa D’s Corner. These projects are secondary here, but they reflect his interest in education, clear communication and meaningful stories.
